Your Wedding Ceremony
As your marriage celebrant, I will work closely with you in creating a ceremony that will be remembered long after you exchange your vows. Whatever your style of ceremony, or choice of venue, you can be assured that I will provide you with a ceremony that will be celebrated with a sense of style, elegance and individuality.
| You can choose a small intimate ceremony with just the two of you and your witnesses or a larger ceremony where family and friends are invited to share in the joy of witnessing your commitment together as a couple. It is very important that your ceremony is created especially reflecting your style and personality and with every attention to detail. |
I will guide you through the legal requirements and can provide you with samples of vows and readings that you can use or modify to truly represent
your values and beliefs. Alternatively you might prefer a ceremony that is totally unique for your own circumstances. Your vows should express the
feelings you have for one another and pledge your love and devotion to each other as you begin your lives together as husband and wife.
Your ceremony can represent your cultural or religious beliefs and can include special readings, read by yourselves, or by one of your guests. I can
provide you with a selection of readings that will reflect just the right mood for your ceremony.
The first step is to discuss your preferences and the possibilities for your ceremony with me in an initial meeting, obligation free. The proposed date,
venue, style of ceremony and my charges can be discussed.
| |
| If you decide to proceed, we will meet again to discuss detailed plans for your ceremony. Sample ceremonies and a range of ideas, vows and readings are available to help you. Plans can be finalised by email and telephone, or in person. |
| I will arrange prompt completion and processing of the legal documents for your marriage. I will provide you with a Certificate of Marriage and a copy of your vows or ceremony on the day. |
| Legal Formalities |
| You must be at least 18 years old and not currently married. A Notice of Intention to Marry (NOIM) form must be completed and received by me at least one month and one day prior to and no more than 18 months before your marriage. I can provide you with a copy of the form or it can be downloaded at www.ag.gov.au/celebrants |
| If you are Australian born, I will need to see your original birth certificates. If you were born overseas you will need to provide a passport or birth certificate which shows your date and place of birth. If you have been married before, the law requires you to show your celebrant original documents to verify your divorce (Certificate of Divorce, or decree absolute), or widowhood (death certificate) |
| At least two witnesses (aged over 18 years) must be present at your wedding ceremony. |
